Adsorb-it®/AM antimicrobial filtration fabric is designed to remove bacteria, sediment, oil, oil sheen, and oil-borne contaminants from water. It is treated with a non-leaching antimicrobial to kill by physical as opposed to chemical means so that there are no toxic chemicals leaching into the environment and the antimicrobial remains active indefinitely.
The immobilized antimicrobial agent within the Adsorb-it®/AM prevents the filtration fabric from fouling with bacteria, fungus, mold and algae, keeping the fabric fibers clean for sorbing (absorbing / adsorbing) oils and oil-borne contaminants. Adsorb-it®/AM kills bacteria, fungus, mold and algae in stagnant water during dry periods and periods with minimal water flow.
Adsorb-it®/AM filtration fabric is our standard Adsorb-it® Filtration Fabric treated with a unique antimicrobial agent surface-bonded and immobilized onto the hydrophobic lipophilic fibers that compose the Adsorb-it® fabric’s vast interstitial spaces. The antimicrobial properties are not diminished by repeated bacterial contact.
Rather than using heavy metals or toxins that could
leach into the environment, this unique antimicrobial agent is
non-toxic and kills bacteria by physical molecular electrocution.
