The Adsorb-it Pillow, 15 inches square and about 4" thick, was designed for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for use in turbine sumps at their power generation facilities. It has the ability to retain up to 3 gallons of oil, oil sheen and oil-borne contaminants.
A continuous rope handle is installed in the pillow to provide removal strength once the Adsorb-it Pillow has become saturated with oil. |
|
The Bilge Pillow, 7 1/2 inches by 15 inches, a smaller version, has the ability to retain up to 1 gallon of oil, oil sheen and oil-borne contaminants and is designed for use in boat bilges and smaller sumps that do not accommodate the use of the larger Adsorb-it Pillow.
A rope handle is fastened to one end of the Bilge Pillow to secure the pillow in place and to facilitate removal of the pillow.
|
Both pillows are constructed with two layers of the Adsorb-it Filtration Fabric, a flotation layer in the center, then stuffed with patented sorbent fiber media that will adsorb up to 20 times its weight in oils.
The pillows are available made from the Adsorb-it /AM that will inhibit the growth of algae, fungus, or mold when left in the water for extended periods of time.
